The Sewer.

Did you know that Anglian Water Authority did not award a contract to bring mains sewerage to parts of Wicklewood village until 1980? The plan - which it was hoped would overcome problems in various places of unsavoury smells and waterlogging, included a pumping main beside Wicklewood bridge. Cost of the scheme was £192,000. Two years earlier, the question of the village's 'smelly ditches' had been discussed by South Norfolk's health committee.
