Inhabitants 1845

In 1845 Wicklewood parish had 775 inhabitants, a grand total which included 137 unfortunates in the workhouse.
Among the village trades at the time were smiths, bricklayers, shoemakers, shopkeepers, straw hat makers, beer-sellers, and a number of farmers.
The only pub listed in 1845 was the Wild Man, setback from the Lower High Street.
